Dear Corso:

First off, you're an idiot. And ugly. But we're not here to talk about that.

I'm here to thank you. It is well know in Gatornation that when you put on the Gator head on GameDay for your pick, we lose. So today you did what was right - you picked the LSU Tigers. And then Herbstreet (the wonderful & knowledgable & cute Herbstreet) picked Gators - it is like seeing into the future through a crystal ball. Or HD flatscreen.
Whatever.

So thanks idiot for doing something right.

Dear Gator fans:

One of the things I love the most about being a Gator is that we can win a game 59-31 & still complain.

When I saw the score yesterday, I joked that we must have put the concession stand vendors in the game because we'd run it up so high so early against Troy there would be no point to keep the first, second & probably third string in. So of course Troy would score. 31 points is not so forgivable ... but sersioulsy - we had 59 & room to spare.

So we're hard on our players, expect a lot from our team ... but that is what makes us Gators!

Dear Football team:

I can't tell you how happy & proud I was on Saturday during the game.

Even in the heart of the town of your SEC rivals here in Athens, I found a place I could watch you dominate a few hours south down in the Swamp. I had my own tv at the wing place right at the table & from the kickoff through the end (well, lighting delay) - I was there yelling & hollering with 90,000+ of my closest friends who were actually in Gainesville.

Even with all this happiness, I have to say it: I was disappointed that Western Kentucky even scored at all. I know, I know. It was only 3 silly points. But it was enough to make me crazy. To me opening weekend mean no points for the opponent. I damn near think it should be illegal for them to score against the Gators.

I'm also trying to work past the fact that we didn't break 50 points. But, I guess if you consider the game basically ended with 8:30 or so left on the clock in the 4th quarter because of lightning, it is safe to say that we would have scored something more in that time.

Don't be mad, football team. Remember, I'm a Gator just like you. We're not happy until the team is humiliated on the field & we've again proven our domination.

I'm sorry I haven't written to you in awhile. I haven't congratulated you on two-in-a-row NCAA basketball championships. I haven't told you how proud I am of the SEC and national football championship last year. I've been silent on the blog, but loud on the support & Gator trash talking.

You guys are getting the props you deserve! You came out ranked #8 in today’s USA Today pre-season rankings.

8. Florida (9-3)
Points: 1,054. Final 2005 rank: 16. Outlook: Jury still out on whether coach Urban Meyer's spread offense can be effective against the kind of powerhouse defenses Gators face in SEC. Running game has to be more consistent, and QB Chris Leak will have highly regarded freshman Tim Tebow right behind him on depth chart. Defense should be solid behind LBs Brandon Siler and Earl Everett. Opens: Sept. 2 vs. Southern Mississippi.

14. Georgia (10-3)
22. Nebraska (8-4)
23. Tennessee (5-6)

Florida football is also above FSU & Miami.

Why does the media call you that? Oh, you all graduated in 2004. Got it. Anyway, hi 04s.

The Friday night Gator celebration at the O'dome was awesome. The Dazzlers were dazzling. The floor was made for champions.

But the best part - you knew this was coming - the best part was the little Horford-Noah-Richard skit where you guys announced you were staying to be a part of the 2006-07 team. Legendary.

It has never been greater (more great?) to be a Florida Gator!
